Job Description:

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Health Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and evaluating public health programs and policies. This position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of public health principles, and a commitment to improving community health.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:

Develop and manage public health programs aimed at improving community health outcomes.
Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to implement health initiatives.
Conduct needs assessments to identify community health needs and priorities.
Research and Analysis:

Design and conduct research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of public health interventions.
Analyze data to identify trends, assess program performance, and make data-driven recommendations.
Prepare and present reports, policy briefs, and scientific articles based on research findings.
Community Engagement:

Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to promote public health initiatives.
Develop educational materials and conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about health issues.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions for community members and professionals.
Policy Development:

Monitor and analyze public health policies and regulations.
Advocate for policy changes to improve public health outcomes.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to policymakers and stakeholders.
Health Promotion and Education:

Design and implement health promotion campaigns to address specific health issues.
Develop and deliver educational programs and materials to various audiences.
Evaluate the impact of health education initiatives on community health behaviors.
Qualifications:

Education:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree with significant experience in public health will also be considered.
Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in public health, preferably in program development or research.
Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of health equity principles.
Skills:

Strong analytical and research skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
Knowledge of public health policies, programs, and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with grant writing and securing funding for public health projects.
Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Certification in Public Health (CPH) or other relevant certifications.
